Style Me Pretty Teaser

More teasers for tomorrow's photo shoot unveiling...

Tangerine Tango would not have shown it's true color without the lovely florals by Adriana Amarei of Life Made Pretty.

Our venue was amazing!!!  First of all, we had a gorgeous clear day with a view of the lakefront in all its glory.  Buckingham Fountain was on in full force and the lake was the clearest blue.  Venue Six10 was the perfect setting for our clean, modern shoot.

And how about all of those special details put together by Meghan of Lovebird Events?!  She was so lucky to utilize the dish ware by Susan Fredman at Home and linens by BBJ Linen.

Finally, our lovely models, Jaime and Patrick.  How do you show an anniversary of love without a couple that truly loves each other?  Jaime looked stunning in the BHLDN dress while Patrick was oh so dashingly handsome.

I can't wait for everyone to experience the full shoot tomorrow.  Be sure to visit Style Me Pretty Illinois!!!!

Blog Love

Exciting things are happening across the blog-o-sphere for Reenie Rose.
Yesterday, Alicia Schwede, owner of Bella Fiori in Denver, Coloradoposted about Reenie Rose on her blog Flirty Fleurs.  What a fabulous blog!  Flirty Fleurs features florists, flowers and the art that is created from them.  You couldn't ask for a better platform for Reenie Rose to be a part of for a day.  Take a look at some of their designers and view their talent....these are the people that inspire my works of art.

In other news, you remember a little teaser I gave back in May about a photo shoot I was involved in.  Abra and Peter's painting was featured among several other talented vendors.  Well, our photo shoot is about to be published...and by none other than Style Me Pretty Illinois!!!  We are set to launch this Thursday, June 28th, but in the meantime, I will send a teaser a day up until the big unveiling.

Besides the fabulous photography of Jennifer Kathryn Photography, one of the stars of the show was Amy DiTomasso of Sugar Chic Designs.  Take a peak at the delectable sweets table she put together for our Tangerine Tango shoot.

So sweet, don't you think!!!

One more bit of news.  If you haven't been living in a closet, than you've noticed my insistent push to vote, vote, vote for Reenie Rose to be qualified for the Chase and Livingsocial grant.  Well I am so honored to say that we finally accomplished receiving the 250 votes needed to make it to the next step of this contest!!!  I am so incredibly grateful for everyone's support and for granting me this opportunity to expand my business.  There is no way I would be in this position without you, and I promise to make everyone proud with my future plans.  Maybe I'll start hinting at those too....

Thank you.

Be U Weddings Feature

I love seeing more of a bride and groom's wedding than just the bouquet, so I was delighted when Be U Weddings featured Sarah and Ernest's wedding on their blog yesterday.  They had an incredibly gorgeous ceremony at the Chicago Cultural Center with flowers by Blumen of HMR Design Group, and all of the perfect details put together by Hilary of Estera Events....love her.  Check out the post and take a trip down memory lane to this purty painting....

Sharing the Blog-o-sphere

Hi everyone!

This past week, I researched wedding gift ideas and came across "The Top 5 Wedding Gifts" and one of the five ideas caught my eye: GET PERSONAL.

Giving a personal gift to the bride or groom can mean more than any of the other gifts they received. The bride and groom will appreciate the thoughtful idea you have come up with to symbolize the start of their life together. Whether you buy such a wedding gift on your own or you organize other guests to chip in, you'll all be creating a memory the bride and groom will never forget.

Everywhere I look, I can see how Loreen's paintings fit perfectly in the "GET PERSONAL" category for wedding ideas. Whether it's a gift from the bridesmaids or a keepsake the bride and groom invest in after the ceremony, it's a perfect idea that can create a meaningful, lifetime memory.

In other news, Loreen finished a gorgeous oil painting of Abra's bouquet and it is easily one of my favorites! Reenie Rose was mentioned by Hello Darling in their recent post comparing the incredible oil painting versus the original wedding bouquet side by side. The comparison of the two is incredible; It's nearly impossible to tell them apart!  A big thank you to the ladies at H.D. for sharing some Reenie Rose with their viewers.

See for yourself the unbelievable work created by Loreen!

Loreen's artistic creations always find a way to leave me in awe!

Have you voted?

I was at FedEx today shipping out a painting when I realized that I had not yet shared its completion with the world.  Silly me keeping this beauty all to myself.
Jaclyn and David's painting is complete!!!
This might be one of my faves.  I'm even thinking of having some prints made of it to have on hand.

If you are loving this painting and want to see more of them, then you have to do me a favor and vote for Reenie Rose to receive a $250,000 grant from Chase and Livingsocial.  Here's what you've got to do:

    Happy Anniversary Alana & Ben!

I'm sitting out on my balcony, basking in the sun which is reminding me of another June 6th that was just as beautiful.  Three years ago, Alana and Ben were married in a gorgeous ceremony followed by a reception at Galleria Marchetti.  Not only was I an attendee at the wedding, but I actually did the day of coordination so that everything went smoothly for the couple....which, it did.
Take a look at some of my handy work...

    Ah, I loved that aisle.
Now, three years later, Alana and Ben are still blissfully married and living in New York City with a new addition to their family....Noa!!  Born this April, Noa is already bringing so much joy to everyone's lives.  She has even inspired me!  Check this out:

I can see a new branch of Reenie Rose forming.... Reenie Rose painting + baby = Anne Geddes inspired photo ops.  My marketing tool could be for couples to purchase a painting for their children's future photo backdrop.  Hey, could work.  I think Noa looks pretty darn cute on mommy and daddy's painting.  Remember it?

Thanks Alana and Ben for creating a cute baby for such a lovely painting.  Happy anniversary to you!!!

    Meet the Photographer: Shutters Photography

Happy Monday everyone!  This day is just flying by for me.  I want to hit pause so many times to catch up with the time despite my high level of productivity today.  Speaking of productivity, wait till you see what I did this weekend....

Gosh, don't you just want to pick that yellow rose that is front and center!?

This is the perfect time give praises to the person that is making this painting possible....and a dazzling one at that.  I introduce to you Jaclyn and David's photographer, Vanessa of Shutters Photography located near Kansas City, Missouri.

    1.  How long have you been in business? I started Shutters in 2007. It was actually prompted as my little brother and sister (who are twins just like myself and my other half) had yet to get senior images taken a month and a half before graduation. Instead of going to a local company like me and my twin had, they asked me to take a hand at doing theirs so it would be more personal. Those sessions prompted more friends of theirs to rush to get theirs done, and before you knew it, I was up and running without really meaning to!

    2.  Toot your own horn....what’s your specialty? Hmmmm. If I chose what my specialty was, I’d have to say child portraits and senior sessions. I work really hard to find the personalities of my clients and work those into the shoots. I think kids and seniors are the best at sharing their personalities with you, as long as you give them the opportunity to and perhaps prompt them a bit. Off kilter, fun images are my absolute favorite, as that is really more of my style than the really posed images and I edit them toward the style that I think best fits that client.

    3.  Who or what are your favorite subjects to photograph....your dream photo session? My absolute favorite subjects are kiddos. I think little ones, especially those who are used to the camera and know how to ham it up, are absolutely to die for. If you can add in big eyes and perfect weather to the mix, I’m in heaven. I have to say, being a twin and from a family with multiples sets of multiples, my dream session right now includes a vision of a set of triplets either in the chunky baby stages (you know what I’m talking about, the age right before they start really moving when their little thighs are the most squishable) or in the 3-5 age range when they are still super playful with each other.

    4.  Craziest thing you’ve captured on camera? I was shooting our local High School’s football team during a game and looked up to see perfect sunset rays just literally beaming across the top of the stadium like it was painted into the sky. I was so worried about capturing it as I just knew it wouldn’t transfer to film as brilliantly as I had witnessed it, but it did! To this day, that is one of my favorite sports shots.

    5.  What do you like about working in the wedding industry? I like being able to capture moments that clients might otherwise forget. A wedding takes so long to plan and bring to life, then it seems to fly by in moments, some of which will never be forgotten, but some of which weren’t even noticed by my clients as they were so busy with other details. I love being able to show them or remind them of events that occurred that make their day even more special.

    6.  When you are not working, what are you up to? I work full time running the marketing department for Advantage PressurePro. We are the leaders in Tire Pressure Monitoring for commercial applications such as trucks, buses, heavy equipment, etc. It’s pretty neat, as we are the only American Made system in the world and we have a great client and partner base. When I’m not working for Shutters or PressurePro, I also run a summer food assistance program for in-need youth in my town and do other volunteer work putting my photography and marketing skills to use. To unwind, I love riding my motorcycle, spoiling my niece & nephew and hanging out with my family, friends and fiancé.

    7.  What is one thing that’s on your bucket list? I have a looooong bucket list, but one thing on the top of the list is that I want to visit each of the 7 Wonders of the World.

    8.  Anything new and exciting coming up that we should know about? (either professionally or personally) I have been frantically trying to get everything caught up and wrapped up, as I have my own wedding next Saturday (May 19th)! Also exciting is news on my website. I have been bad about updating mine - ok, I’ve been horrible, as it hasn’t been updated in years thanks to being so busy – but my new website template is purchased and waiting to be finalized, so fans should watch for it soon!

Love this last one!  Jaclyn's dress looks like it was made out of the petals.  Be sure to visit Vanessa's site to view more of her lovely work.  She was a complete delight to work with and made my job of acquiring photos easy peasy!  Thanks Vanessa!

Jaclyn & David: A Sign of Summer

I'm really getting into the swing of summer projects, and I can't wait to share them with you.  First up, a new painting!  This one delights me to no end for a couple of reasons....the biggest one being that it is a group gift that includes some very close friends of mine.  It truly means so much to me when friends think of Reenie Rose as their gift option.  There are a lot of vases on registries and easy checks to be written, so when someone chooses me over all else, the support is magnified.

You'll remember Brian and Rachel's painting that I gifted to them a while back:

Well, they are paying it forward with a gifted painting to Rachel's brother, David, that just got married.  Check out this colorful burst of summer in Jaclyn's hands:

    Image provided by Shutters Photography

As simple as an all rose bouquet can be, the colors in this one give it soooo much personality.  I'm really looking forward to starting this piece and watching it just brighten up flower by flower.

The composition was up for debate among the group, so they left it up to me to pick.  Really, vertical or horizontal, they are the same composition.  So, I ask you: which way would you hang this piece?  I am going to paint it vertically, but when it comes to hanging it up, it really could go either way.  I'd like to hear what you think about this.

    Let's get it started!

Nice to see the sun peaking out in time for the weekend.  Happy Friday everyone!
